Kiwanis awards $600 to Bob Jones Key Club

From L to R: Key Club sponsor Shari Baker, Key Club President Michelle Roberts, Secretary Mary Odum and Kiwanis member Ed Courtney

The Bob Jones Key Club was awarded $600 by the Huntsville chapter of the Kiwanis Club of Huntsville.

“With the schools in the financial situation they’re in, we don’t have lot of funds,” said Shari Baker, Key Club sponsor. “It was exciting to have any help we could get at this point.”

Baker said she will use the money to purchase Key Club graduation chords for Key Club members who have completed their required number of local service projects.

Baker said Ed Courtney, the Kiwanis member who presented the check, is planning on starting a Madison chapter.

She said if that happens, the club will sponsor BJ’s Key Club.

Key Club is an international student-led organization, which provides its members with opportunities to serve, build character and develop leadership.
