Bob Jones blasts Albertville 51-6 for homecoming celebration

MADISON — The Albertville pass by quarterback Carlos Zuniga Carbajal twirled through the air for its intended target early in the second quarter.

The only problem was that Bob Jones’ defensive back BJ Carter was there to reach out and knock it away for the pass breakup.

It was a strong play by the Patriot secondary man, but surely this kid couldn’t maintain that level of defense over and over.

For some reason (0-9) Albertville went right back to the receiver being covered by Carter and this time he hit the Aggies where it hurt.

The ball floated down the field and Carter launched skyward and snagged the pigskin for himself.

The interception by BJ Carter was a statement for Bob Jones (5-4) in a game full of statements as the Patriots steamrolled Albertville 51-6 on Friday at home.

Bob Jones had no real trouble with a winless Albertville team who just lost to James Clemens at Madison City Stadium a week ago.

The Aggies struggled to move the ball down the field and to stop the Patriots who basically did whatever they wanted in this game.

One bright spot for Albertville was its massive band that sounded and played like a college band.

The Aggie band actually had the capability to affect the game if it had been a little more competitive because of how loud it was.

It can be hard to communicate the play call or shift protections at the line of scrimmage with the song “Crazy Train” roaring from across the field.

The Albertville band, which is marching in the Rose Parade in a couple of months, was so loud during its halftime performance that it hurt at points to listen to them belt out their notes.
