Havoc to host Birmingham, Roanoke this weekend, Conner Russell returns

HUNTSVILLE – Those planning to see the Huntsville Havoc in action Friday night at the VBC will see a different opponent than the one scheduled.

The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) has been notified today of the Vermilion County Bobcats’ intention to cease operations, effective immediately. The move caused the league to announced several opponent changes for this weekend, including here in Huntsville.

The Birmingham Bulls will replace Vermilion County as the opponent for the Huntsville Havoc’s home game on Friday, Feb. 10. The puck drops at 7 p.m.

The Havoc will play at the VBC again on Saturday at 7 p.m. They will take on Roanoke.

Gearing up the games this weekend, the Havoc announced some player changes.

Head Coach Glenn Detulleo announced the return of D Connor Russell from South Carolina (ECHL) and the trade of F Hunter Bersani to Macon.

Russell, 26, started the season with the Iowa Heartlanders before signing with the Havoc. He appeared in 14 games for the Havoc before being called up to South Carolina. While in South Carolina, he appeared in 8 games.

In a corresponding move, the Havoc have traded F Hunter Bersani to the Macon Mayhem for future considerations.
