In the title contest against seventh ranked Class 5A Pleasant Grove, Sparkman trailed by nine at halftime, but a terrific defense in the second half and overtime period pushed the Senators to the victory.

Kennedy Langham (5-8, Jr.) led Sparkman with 67 points over the four games. Maya Cable (5-7, Sr.) was next with 47 points and Abethany James (5-9, So.) was third in scoring with 33. Head coach Jarvis Wilson said of the his team’s performance, “Played hard and disciplined throughout the tournament. I have been impressed with our ability to make adjustments especially on the defensive end of the floor. Our team is coming together and playing a lot more comfortably within the system. I’m looking forward to the second half of the season as we begin Region play.” Photo Contributed
