Bob Jones to host ‘Starve a Vampire Blood Drive’ on Oct. 29

MADISON – “Blood is life. Don’t let it run out. Please give blood.”
Those pleas from Bob Jones High School are encouraging residents and the student body to donate for the Fall Blood Drive. To recognize the Halloween season, the event is dubbed “Starve a Vampire Blood Drive.”
Bob Jones’ chapter of Health Occupations Students of America or HOSA is hosting this annual event on Oct. 29.
The drive event is affiliated with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers. The address of LifeSouth’s office in Madison is 8190 Madison Blvd. Donations to LifeSouth remain in Alabama for those patients in need of blood transfusions.
“Please consider donating blood. It’s a great thing to do,” Assistant Principal Amy Thaxton said.
Students and faculty can donate from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the small gym. Donors must be 16 years old or older. In addition, donors who are 16 years old must have a parental consent form, which is available in distribution at lunch or in Kara Koler’s room.
Residents can donate from noon to 3 p.m. in the small gym. Donors should enter the school building at the small gym. All donors will receive a special T-shirt.
