Madison City Schools will now require all students and staff to wear masks

MADISON – The Madison City School System has altered plans for requiring students and staff to wear masks in school buildings when school starts on Wednesday. MCS Superintendent Dr. Ed Nichols sent out a message to parents Monday night stating that masks will be required.

“Madison City Schools will mandate masks for all students and staff inside school buildings and buses, effective Aug. 4,” he said. “This change from masks optional comes after the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) issued a revised toolkit for schools earlier today with new quarantine protocols that will inevitably lessen quarantining if masks are worn in schools.”
