Calhoun partners with Amazon to host career information sessions

The Calhoun Community College Career Services Department is partnering with Amazon to host a series of free career information sessions for the community.

Amazon, an American trillion-dollar multinational technology company focused on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence has expanded its job offerings to North Alabama. Ranking second on Fortune’s World’s Most Admired Companies list for the fifth year in a row, Amazon created over 400,000 jobs last year, and is now seeking to fill positions in Madison County.

“We are excited to host Amazon on our campuses and expose our students and the community to their many job openings in our area,” commented Dr. Jimmy Hodges, Calhoun Interim President. “Connecting individuals to an industry and field they love is what we do well here at Calhoun, and we appreciate Amazon partnering with us to make that happen,” added Hodges.

According to Kelli Morris, Calhoun’s Director of Career Services, the company is seeking to fill positions for hourly employment in Madison, AL. The company is offering $15.50 or more for its various open positions at its new warehouse. Attendees of the information session will learn about Amazon’s unique hiring process and benefits packages, and be able to participate in a Q&A session with Amazon representatives.
