First responders recognized for saving several lives recently

MADISON – The Madison Fire and Rescue said they have busy been saving lives recently. In fact, they cite five separate calls where a life was successfully saved as a result of the outstanding job performance from individuals in Madison over the last several months. Members included personnel from Madison Fire, Madison Police, Decatur Police, HEMSI, and a registered nurse.
According to a social media post made by Madison Fire on Monday, first responders successfully saved four citizens that were found in cardiac arrest and ultimately returned home well. “Many of these members performed a rescue of a citizen that was trapped in a structure fire and the citizen ultimately survived,” the post stated.
