Madison City Council members to hold town hall meeting Thursday, April 22
MADISON – Madison City Council Member Maura Wroblewski, who represents District 1, along with Connie Spears (District 2) and John Siefert (District 7) will hold a joint town hall meeting on Thursday, April 22, 5:30 p.m., at Madison City Hall, 100 Hughes Road.
Wroblewski said she organized the meeting with the goal of informing residents what the plans are for the Balch/Gillespie intersection.
“Topics discussed will be the time frame of construction, detour routes and justification for an improvement over the current 4 way stop that has been in place for many years.
“This project has been a long time coming and I extend my many thanks to the Mayor’s Office for making this happen,” Wroblewski said. “With the growth of the west side, the location of Madison Hospital and the three elementary schools within a short distance, a roundabout will be a permanent solution for traffic woes. This should move traffic in a consistent flow with minimal stop and go.”
Wroblewski shared that she sought out the opinion of Madison Police Department, Madison Fire and Rescue and HEMSI and all three agencies stated they preferred a roundabout over a traffic light because of the continuous flow.
