MERIDIANVILLE – A suspect wanted by Madison Police in connection with a murder investigation was apprehended Wednesday afternoon. MPD says Jonathin Taylor Stephens, 39, was arrested by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department in Meridianville.

Tuesday morning, Huntsville and Madison Police announced they were conducting a joint investigation into a death on Slaughter Road.

Madison Police Chief David Jernigan said his department was notified just after 1 a.m. Tuesday morning of a deceased male victim located on the roadside in the 200 block of Slaughter Road near the railroad crossing by the Huntsville Police Department. The deceased victim has been identified as Michael Anthony Baker of Huntsville.
