“Light It Up Madison – A Prayer Vigil for Health Workers” will be held Sunday in the Madison Hospital parking lot

Earlier this week, police, fire and other first responders joined citizens in the Madison Hospital parking lot to show their suport to the healthcare workers who are on the front lines right now against COVID-19.

On Sunday, a larger demonstration of the comunity’s suport is being planned for Madison Hospital called “Light it Up Madison”. Similar events will be held at Huntsville Hospital and Crestwood Medical Center at the same time.

Organizers are encouraging people to turn out for the event starting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, but to stay in the cars with the windows up. They are asking people to join in unity and prayer lining the parking lots of the hospital. Tune in to 102.1 WDRM or 88.1 WAY FM, 99.5 beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The City of Madison sent out a notice supporting the event, but said it is imperative that people STAY IN THEIR CARS WITH THEIR WINDOWS CLOSED. “We must respect social distancing so police resources are preserved and so that this community effort can continue.”
