Coronavirus cases increase more than 200 over weekend

The Alabama Department of Public Health is showing this morning that the state has increased in COVID-19 cases by 203 over the weekend. There are now 830 cases with 80 now in Madison County. On Friday Madison County had 60. Limestone has 16 cases.

Four deaths due to the virus have now been confirmed by the ADPH in Alabama, including one last week in Madison County. Other deaths have been in Chambers, Jackson and Lauderdale counties.

The number of total tested is still being reported as 4,755* (as of March 27) by the ADPH.

*Total tested is only updated once per day by the ADPH. It primarily represents tests that were satisfactorily performed by the ADPH Bureau of Clinical Laboratories (BCL), along with some data from commercial labs. Commercial labs are required, by law, to report positive tests to ADPH. Some commercial labs do not report negative specimens.
