MADISON COUNTY – There have now been three deaths in Alabama from the coronavirus, including one in Madison County the Alabama Department of Public said Friday morning.

As of Friday at 9:00 a.m., there are 539 cases of COVID-19 with 43 cases in Madison County and 13 in Limestone County. Since the city of Madison lies in Madison County and Limestone County, it is uncertain how many of the live in city. We do know that a city employee tested positive for the virus earlier this week.

The ADPH reports 4,082 people have been tested for the virus, although that number is expected to be higher than reported. Total tested primarily represents tests that were satisfactorily performed by the ADPH Bureau of Clinical Laboratories, along with some data from commercial labs. Commercial labs are required, by law, to report positive tests to ADPH. Some commercial labs do not report negative specimens.
