Huntsville Christmas Parade route change

HUNTSVILLE – The route for the 2019 Mix 96.9 and the Von Braun Center’s Huntsville Christmas Parade has been changed due a lane closure on Jefferson Street. This was the major thoroughfare for the Christmas Parade to travel North back to Holmes Avenue and allow traffic to exit from the downtown area to the East.

Due to the amount of roadway taken up by construction, the Huntsville Police Department has determined it to be a safety hazard to bring floats onto Jefferson Street.

The parade is being re-routed to Washington Street.  Complete route details are below.  The route will be closed at 5:30 p.m. Roads will reopen as the parade passes through the route.

The Mix 96.9 and the Von Braun Center’s Huntsville Christmas Parade is presented for the fourth time by Redstone Federal Credit Union. The sixth annual parade is set for Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 6:00 p.m. with the theme of “Christmas Around the World.”

2019 Christmas Parade Route:
South out of Lot K turning East onto Clinton Avenue.
South onto Church Street, turn East onto Williams Avenue.
North onto Fountain Circle, continuing East onto Southside Square.
North onto Eastside Square, continuing North onto Washington Street.
Continuing all the way to Holmes Avenue, then West onto Holmes Avenue.
