Armed robbery suspect now linked to four Madison robberies

Terrence Jackson CONTRIBUTED

MADISON – A suspect in a string of armed robberies, including four robberies in Madison is being transported from Mobile to Morgan County. Terrence Warren Jackson, 41, of Huntsville, faces charges relating to two robberies there, one in Hartselle at a Game Stop and the other in Decatur at Metro PCS.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and FBI Agents with the North Alabama Violent Crimes Task Force located Jackson in Mobile, AL less than 24 hours after he allegedly committed multiple robberies in Madison and the Decatur area on Oct. 10.

Jackson also faces seven robbery charges in Madison County.  Four in Madison and three in Huntsville.

Jackson is accused of the armed robbery of the Verizon store on Madison Blvd. on Sept. 16 and again on Oct. 10 where he robbed the business and a customer in the store.

The fourth robbery occurred on Oct. 10 at Marco’s Pizza along Hwy 72.

Additionally, he faces robbery charges for robberies at Metro PCS, Game Stop and Family Dollar in Huntsville.  Authorities say Jackson is responsible for at least nine robberies in the past month in the Madison/Morgan County area.

The Madison County Sheriff Department said investigations are still being conducted by various North Alabama agencies for additional robberies.

“Again, this emphasizes the importance of Task Force partnerships with not only local agencies, but state and federal as well,” Madison County Sheriff Kevin Turner said.  “I can’t say enough about the work that Madison County Sheriff’s Investigator, Stacey Rutherford, put in on the case.  As a member of the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, he was able to obtain information that led to the identity of Jackson as well as the house he had been living in where we recovered multiple stolen items.  We thank all the law enforcement agencies and their personnel that were involved in the investigation and arrest of Jackson, and we thank the public for the trust they instill in our agency”.

Sheriff’s Investigators were able to determine an address where he had been living, and in the early morning hours of Oct. 11, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and FBI served a search warrant at a house in the 3000 block of Fouche Drive in Huntsville.

Authorities said Jackson fled the home prior to the SWAT team’s arrival, but multiple stolen items were located in the house. Investigators were able to track Jackson to the Mobile, AL area, and with help of other law enforcement agencies he was safely taken into custody.
