Last Chance Cross Country Invitational To Be Held This Saturday

MADISON- The largest high school cross country meet to date in Madison will be held this Saturday at Palmer Park as James Clemens will host the Last Chance Invitational.

A total of 33 schools will be represented and will include the four local schools of James Clemens, Bob Jones, Sparkman and Madison Academy. The race schedule includes Boys JV- 3:15 p.m., Girls JV- 3:45 p.m., Girls Varsity 5K- 4:15 p.m. and Boys Varsity 5K- 5:00 p.m. An awards ceremony will be held immediately following the last race at the James Clemens tent.

Free admission for spectators, but a $5 parking charge will be necessary per automobile.

“This is the last chance for each runner to go head-to-head to determine which runners will participate at the Section Meet,” said Drew Bell head coach of James Clemens and Invitational organizer. “This will be the host site of several Sectional Meets including classes 1-4A and 6-7A, all of which will be held at Palmer Park on Oct. 31.”

The Last Chance Invitational will also provide the junior high runners an opportunity to run the 5K course.
