Retirement Lifestyle Expo set for September 17 at VBC

HUNTSVILLE – The Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center will host the 21st Annual Retirement Lifestyle on Tuesday, September 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville.

“The Senior Center is celebrating our 45th year of service and the Retirement Lifestyle Expo is one of our most popular events,” said marketing director Cathie Mayne. “The Expo provides seniors, their families, and friends the opportunity to access the latest products and services in retirement living, health care and screenings, leisure, lifestyle choices, investment, retirement planning and more.”

New this year will be two “Don’t Stop Learning” areas that will include entertainment all day long and a variety of speakers on topics from blogging and safety to the great outdoors. A sampler food court will also be on hand, provided by Ward Ragland and Piggly Wiggly.

The Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center provides a community focal point where seniors age 60 and above can come together for services and activities which support their independence, enhance their dignity, and encourage community involvement. In 2018, more than 18,000 clients were served and 990 volunteers donated 57,000 service hours.

Located at 2200 Drake Ave in Huntsville, the nonprofit Center is a place where seniors gather to enjoy educational and art classes, participate in fitness classes and interest clubs, and be part of sports like pickleball, bowling, fishing, and softball.
