HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Mustangs win 17-7 on road trip

Madison Academy 17, Lawrence County 7

MOULTON – Madison Academy rebounded this week in a 17-7 win over the Lawrence County Red Devils.

The Mustangs defense forced three Red Devils turnovers in the first half, two in the red zone.

Offensively, the Mustangs were held to just a field goal until the final second of the first half, when Madison Academy just barely slipped into the end zone on a play that was reviewed.

It was set up by a long pass, one of only two big plays the defense gave up all night, the other being a quarterback run for a score in the second half.

The Mustangs would score one other time, in the third quarter. The Red Devils lone touchdown came in the fourth quarter.

Madison Academy will travel to East Limestone next Friday.
