MADISON- On a recent stop in the Huntsville-Madison area as part of the Tennessee Titans Caravan, the annual caravan tour with members of the Titans’ players, mascot and cheerleaders made an exit off I-565 to the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. Not only were there Titans fans waiting to be impressed by their 2019 team players, but in turn, the players were in awe of the space museum and a chance to speak with the large crowd of youngsters attending the famed Space Camp.

One of those players who took a fancy to the surroundings of space history at the museum was Rashaan Evans a second year linebacker out of Alabama. The 6-foot-2, 232-pound defender played in 15 games for the Titans last season with 53 tackles. The former five-star prospect at Auburn High School walked among the confines of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center soaking in as much about the space program as the limited time would allow.

“Visiting the Space & Rocket Center is like a dream come true to me as I’ve always wanted to visit here,” said Evans during his stay.

Evans and three additional Titans’ players made the caravan stop and were ushered into the Center’s large auditorium where they met with the group of Space Campers who were as excited to see the NFL players as much as the players were to meet youngsters who were also living their dreams.

“I told them to make their dreams, strive to achieve those dreams,” said Evans, who also told the wide-eyed youngsters, “Be what you want to be and, like I did in football, give 100-percent to that commitment.”

A recent minicamp for the Titans seemed to be a successful one for Evans, who was a star defender for the Crimson Tide of Alabama as his senior team won the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship. “The number one thing we did at Alabama is the way we worked at how to prepare,” said Evans. “That’s the thing that is underrated and goes unnoticed a lot of times. Many of the things we did away from the cameras, the commitment to excellence and the mindset every player thought we would win.”

Evans stressed those commitment realities to a large group of players who attended the recent free football camp he hosted in his hometown of Auburn. At Auburn High, Evans was ranked the No. 2 outside linebacker in the country. He was recruited by a bevy of colleges from across the country, but chose Alabama as his destination to begin his quest to make it the next level of professional football.

The Titans will have three starting linebackers return for the 2019 season with Evans being tabbed as the leader among the defense, which must lead the Titans to success.

“Being that guy to be the best and if we can bring all of our chemistry together into one pot, that will create great team,” said Evans.
