MADISON COUNTY – All three school districts in Madison County will delay opening by two hours on Jan. 7.

Huntsville City Schools, Madison County School and Madison City Schools announced the delay to deal with the brutally cold weather. Buses will run on the delayed schedule.

In Huntsville, however, students can enter the school at the regular time, and breakfast will be available.

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning through noon on Jan. 7. Most areas will experience a wind chill at -10 degrees or to -20 degrees in high terrain.

Temperatures will finally rise above freezing around noon on Jan. 8. The forecast high is 40 degrees. For up-to-date weather conditions, visit the National Weather Service site at weather.gov and click North Alabama on the map.
