HUNTSVILLE – Broadway Theatre League will present “The Ten Tenors on Broadway” on March 30.

The show is a mix of theatrical showstoppers and heart-melting ballads, league spokesperson Barry Sublett said.

Show time is 3 p.m. in the Mark C. Smith Concert Hall at the Von Braun Center.

Billed as “The Vocal Wonder from Down Under,” the Australian troupe “lends its flair and individuality to a repertoire that includes ‘Music of the Night’ from ‘Phantom of the Opera,’ ‘Bring Him Home’ from ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘The Impossible Dream’ from ‘Man of LaMancha,'” Sublett said.

The Huntsville performance is part of a four-month U.S. tour that began in January.

“Having sold more than 3.5 million concert tickets worldwide, the guys always leave an enduring presence wherever they perform, but I guarantee the ‘On Broadway’ show will be leaving the audience wanting more,” producer Gary Wendt said.

The Ten Tenors ensemble began as a group of friends that banded together to make pocket money during studies at Queensland Conservatorium of Music.

“Their unique approach to opera brings them adoration and respect and continually pushes the boundaries of the classical crossover genre,” Wendt said. “Blending opera with rock and pop has powered their rise to the top, creating a sound that is uniquely theirs.”

Each year, the troupe performs an average of 250 shows across seven continents. The Ten Tenors have four gold and two platinum CDs, two gold DVDs and one platinum gold DVD.

Sponsors are Jerry Damson Automotive Group and Regions Bank. The show is recommended for all ages.

Tickets start at $38. To purchase tickets, call 256-518-6155; visit Broadway Theatre League’s office, VBC box office or Ticketmaster outlets; or visit ticketmaster.com. Use promotion code ‘TEN to receive $10 off.
