WBCNA plans ‘Strong Coffee, Strong Women’ on June 24
HUNTSVILLE – “Strong Coffee, Strong Women” promises to be an eye-opener for reaching the self-potential.
The Women’s Business Center of North Alabama (WBCNA) will host the event on June 24 from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. The WBCNA office is located at the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County building, third floor at 225 Church St. in Huntsville.
“Fueled by caffeine and passionate entrepreneurs, this daybreak networking event is for women who are focused on achieving something every day,” WBCNA President & CEO Joanne Randolph said.
“Strong Coffee, Strong Women” is a monthly coffee house event for business leaders and entrepreneurs connect and grow. Individuals can “brew new ideas for growing your business, and sweeten your business network,” Randolph said.
By attending, women can meet other inventive and resourceful individuals who have highly productive experience in business. In an ‘espresso-monial,’ “a local female business leader gives a shot of inspiration in her 10-minute story of how she launched her business or how she overcame a challenge,” Randolph said.
On June 24 for the ‘espresso-monial,’ Teresa Vanhooser, deputy director of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, will speak. Since 2012, Vanhooser has assisted MSFC Director Patrick Scheuermann in managing one of NASA’s largest field installations with about 6,000 on- and near-site civil service and contractor employees.
Vanhooser helps oversee a broad range of propulsion, scientific and space transportation activities. During 2011-2012, she managed the Flight Programs & Partnerships Office at MSFC and received numerous awards.
WBCNA helps women start and grow businesses and thus spur the region’s economy. The center provides information and access to resources, assists in personal development and mentors individuals to develop business. The U.S. Small Business Administration assists the center.
Advance tickets to “Strong Coffee, Strong Women” are $10. At the event, tickets are $15.
