Sullivan, Church streets closed at railroad Sept. 10-12

MADISON – Norfolk Southern will close Sullivan and Church streets at the railroad Sept. 10 at 8 a.m. to Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. for maintenance. Motorists can follow a detour route to the Hughes Road overpass to avoid the railroad crossings. However, residents can access local businesses at all times.

When the downtown maintenance is complete, the Shelton Road intersection will be affected.

When Sullivan Street is closed, alternate routes for north and south bound traffic are Hughes Road, County Line Road and Shelton Road. When Shelton Road is closed, alternate routes are Slaughter Road, Hughes Road, Sullivan Street and County Line Road.

City officials urge caution in the area, and remind motorists to obey all traffic control measures.
