EMA officials urge residents to register storm shelters

MADISON COUNTY – The Huntsville-Madison County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) encourages all residents to register locations of their storm shelters and safe rooms.

By registering these safe places, local fire departments, first responders and search and rescue teams will know the location of families after a tornado or other damaging severe weather.

EMA staff will share information provided with both volunteer and municipal fire and rescue departments in Madison County.

To register a private shelter or safe room, visit madisoncountyema.com and click the appropriate link for the area where you live: City of Huntsville, City of Madison or Madison County.
