Rhythms of Grace to stage ‘Narnia’ in Zompa Auditorium

MADISON – Residents can take a magical trip for the holiday season during “Narnia – The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” by Rhythms of Grace Dance Academy.

The show date will be Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. in Bob Jones High School’s Zompa Auditorium.

The stage production is an adaptation of the 1970s’ novel by C.S. Lewis. In the story, young Lucy discovers a magical piece of furniture in their house. A clothing wardrobe actually serves as a passageway into a fantasy world.

Lucy and her siblings — Edmund, Peter and Susan — enter the portal to the new world and anger the wrath of the White Witch. However, a reversal of fortune awaits the children after they endure the dangers of the strange new world.

Tickets to “Narnia” are $10 at the event, and three-year-olds and younger will be admitted free. A meet-and-greet session will introduce guests to all the beloved Narnia characters. Concessions will be sold.

Rhythms of Grace Dance Academy, the fine arts group producing the show, offers dance training in an uplifting and fun atmosphere. “We move for the glory of God,” according to the academy’s website at rogdance.com.

The academy’s goal is to deliver outstanding dance training, while mentoring the individual skills, talents and creativity of each dancer. In addition, the instructors show care and love for the families that are part of the studio.

“We want our passion for dance to point to Christ and to go beyond our four walls. We dance to make Him famous,” according to rogdance.com.

Each year, dance students with the academy enjoy rehearsing and working to present a Christmas-time performance. They also have performed for “Under the Christmas Tree.”

The academy has a full range of classes. For example, Tippy Toes introduces three-year-olds to basic building blocks of ballet, including plies and arabesque. Tutu 4 Tots combines ballet basics with the start of tap dancing to four-year-olds. Classes advance in age-appropriate groups for ballet, tap, hip-hop and jazz.

In addition, Rhythms of Grace Dance Academy dancers are open to performances at events in the community.

The academy’s address is 1822 Winchester Road in Huntsville. For information, call 256-828-7837 or visit Facebook/Rhythms of Grace Dance Academy.
