MADISON – Madison Animal Rescue Foundation is having a party at Blue Pants Brewery, 500 Lanier Road to help dogs and cats find a family home.

“Pints for Paws” on Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. will offer guests the potent potables crafted at Blue Pants in a party atmosphere to benefit MARF.

“Animal Control has been overflowing lately. We are at risk of not being able to take (all animals),” MARF founder Miki Bennett said.

The band Dawg Haus will entertain guests with their mix of jazz, folk, blues and other tunes. This acoustic trio includes Len Bullard, Rick Van Nostrand and Curtis Zimmerman.

A silent auction will offer fine jewelry, prints by local artists, gift baskets for both people and dogs/cats and a $300 certificate for prescription sunglasses at Madison Eye Care. “We’ll have two Daniel Moore prints, both Auburn and Alabama,” Bennett said. “We’re still working on auction items.”

Mayor Troy Trulock will be guest speaker.

Several sponsorship levels are open:

* “Classy Cat” — For $100 to $249. Includes two tickets, advertisement on MARF’s Facebook page and emcee acknowledgment at Pints for Paws.

* “Premiere Pup” — For $250 to $499. Previous benefits plus additional space in event advertising.
