MADISON – Pink Penguin Interiors has brought women’s boutique clothing, jewelry and home decor to Madison but without the prices of a boutique.

Owner Pam Hill formerly operated Bargain Jungle in Athens for several years. Now a resident of Madison, Hill wanted to bring a new shopping experience here. Pink Penguin Interiors’ address is 7449-C U.S. 72 W., west of Jeff Road.

“I love retail because I love people,” Hill said. “I am not originally from Alabama but chose to remain here because the people are so genuine and supportive.”

Hill’s goal is to continue with great bargains as she offered at her Athens store. “I recently expanded into boutique clothing, jewelry, purses and other items … the boutique without boutique prices,” Hill said.

In apparel, Pink Penguin carries all sizes, including hard-to-find plus sizes. Monogramming is available. The shop offers a large variety of travel bags, school bags and initial key chains. Hill can personalize any lunch bag, backpack or pencil bag.

“Some of our most popular labels are Comfort Colors, Volatile Shoes, Corky’s Shoes, Umgee apparel, Blupepper and Piko, to name just a few,” Hill said.

For bridal showers, Pink Penguin has excellent gift choices, such as picture frames, Circle E candles and Seda France Candles. Hill has a new collection of handmade art by local artist Hazel’s Attic.

“We have several accent furniture pieces, mirrors and lamps. We also offer a large selection of readymade curtain panels available in lengths up to 108 inches,” Hill said.

Lexie, Hill’s cocker spaniel, often visits the store. “Lots of customers know her,” Hill said.
