Take a holiday break, get creative at Madison Public Library

MADISON – During the chaotic rush of Christmas shopping and endless chores, residents can take a relaxing break with recreation at Madison Public Library.

All these sessions will occur in just one week during December:

Individuals can schedule appointments online at the Makerspace Studio in Madison. Madison’s Studio Winter Open House on Dec. 3 will run from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Reservations aren’t necessary; visit throughout the day.

Branch Manager Sarah Sledge urges people to visit the Madison Studio for free activities and demonstrations of makerspace equipment. People can decide on Christmas gifts to give, make a keepsake ornament or ask about potential projects.

In addition, The Makerspace Studio has a diverse inventory of tools for use with 3D printing. Tools include two Cricut cutters, which are Bluetooth-capable machines specializing in cutting paper materials, like vinyl and construction paper. Two heavy-duty Singer sewing machines have 12 extra presser-foot accessories.

Scheduled each month, craft time will welcome Madison Senior Center members on Dec. 3 from 10 to 11 a.m.
