EPB cotillion features ‘Rising Stars’
HUNTSVILLE – The Alpha Omega Chapter of Eta Phi Beta (EPB) Sorority Inc. recently presented the 17th annual Junior Cotillion at the Von Braun Center.
Eta Phi Beta Sorority is a professional women’s service organization.
The gala featured girls and boys in seventh through ninth grades as ‘Rising Stars,’ “who have been engaged with positive community leaders and activities to provide skills to help them maximize their success in life,” EPB publicist Alicia Carroll said.
Rising Stars recognized at the cotillion on April 11 were Jaylon Atkinson, Karley Boddie, Xavier Engram, Arianna Fletcher, Phillip ‘Kenard’ Jones and Tralynn Todd.
Eta Phi Beta members at the event included Carroll, Mable Harris, Lelia Reid-Davis, Ada Crenshaw, Linda Burruss, Lois Thompson, president Brenda Bennett, Phyllis Caudle, Brenda Beale, committee chairperson Beth Harris, LeToya Fletcher and Gladys Bracy.
Each Rising Star participant received a trophy, certificate and gift bag. “To-date, approximately 279 youth have participated and benefited from this event,” Carroll said.
