This year’s tour includes homes in The Ledges, Huntsville’s Historical District, and the Belle Grove subdivision in Madison.

CASA of Madison County’s annual Kitchens for CASA is returning for the 20th year consecutive year.

Kitchens for CASA is the organization’s largest fundraiser. Money raised will provide direct services to the elderly and homebound of Madison County.

Participants will have the opportunity to tour six homes in Huntsville and Madison city.

Director Ann Anderson said the self-guided tours will focus mainly on kitchens, but some will be able to tour entire houses.

“Every house has it’s own personality,” Anderson said. “Each is unique and expresses the homeowner’s personality.”

The tours will be this Sunday, Aug. 21 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The tour is self-guided, so participants can show up at any house during that time frame.

“All six homes are exquisite this year,” she said. “ I can’t say how excited we are.”

The fundraiser $12,000 last year and Anderson said she hopes to match, or exceed that number.

Refreshments will be served in each home, with food demonstrations and tasting included.

Events on the tour include: a raffle, refreshments, culinary demonstrations from local chefs and more. Tour homes feature remodeling from local distributors, so this is the perfect opportunity to find the latest ideas for a new build or remodeling your kitchen. Some homes will have representatives available to answer your questions.

Advanced tickets are $20, or $25 the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at Lawren*s, Belk (Parkway Place), H Raines on Whitesburg, First Commercial Bank branches and the CASA office. Online tickets are available at www.casamadisoncty.org.

Care Assurance System for the Aging and Homebound (CASA) is a non-profit agency located in Huntsville, Alabama that provides services to individuals age 60 and older and to the homebound (wheelchair and bed bound) of all ages.
