MADISON – Honor guards from Madison Fire and Rescue Department and Madison Police Department led a remembrance ceremony for the lost lives during terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

Madison’s first-responders conducted the program on Sept. 11 at Madison Fire Station 2, 1115 Hughes Road. The event started at 7:46 a.m., the time when an airplane, American Airlines Flight 11, crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

“I was proud to be with our Madison police, fire and rescue team members, as well as Chairman Mark Yarbrough, Commissioner Steve Haraway and other city leaders as we remembered those involved with the tragic events of 9/11 fourteen years ago,” Mayor Troy Trulock said in a Facebook post.

“We recognized our outstanding first responders who continue to support us every day,” Trulock said.
