MADISON – Senior Pastor Anthony Wheeler of Beacon Hill Worship Center was installed as superintendent of the new Legacy District on Feb. 27.

The Westin Huntsville will host the event at 4 p.m.

Recently, Wheeler “was elevated to the office of district superintendent of the Legacy District, Alabama First Jurisdiction Church of God In Christ, where Bishop O.L. Meadows is jurisdictional prelate,” spokesperson De’Lisha Clemons said.

“The Church of God in Christ Inc. is the largest Pentecostal denomination in the United States, with more than 6.5 million members,” Clemons said.

Wheeler has served as pastor of Beacon Hill Worship Center in Madison for the past 11 years, the Beacon Center at Madison Square Mall and now The Beacon Huntsville. “As part of his new role, Superintendent Wheeler has launched ‘Vision 20/20: The Reintroduction of the Community Church,'” Clemons said.

“Planting new kingdom-minded community churches will exist for the purpose of reaching the needs of communities, while bringing healing and hope to individuals or families,” Clemons said.

Church officials have confirmed that Madison Mayor Trulock will attend the event. They have invited other city and state officials.

Beacon Hill in Madison conducts Sunday School classes on Sunday at 9 a.m. following by morning worship at 10:30 a.m. On the second and fourth Sunday, the church offers an early-morning worship experience at 8:15 a.m.
