Madison American Legion officers sworn in

MADISON – American Legion, Post 229 in Madison has elected and sworn in officers to lead the group for 2019-2020. 

Officers are Larry Vannoy, Post Commander; Earl Watts, 1st Vice Commander; Tommy Whitten, 2nd Vice Commander; Stacey Harring, Adjutant; Robert ‘Bob’ Kirby, Finance Officer; Chris Brown, Judge Advocate; Andy Caudle, Chaplain; Mike Marcel, Sergeant-at-Arms; and Richard L. Blanton Jr., Historian.

The post held elections on May 9. Anthony Bush, former Commander for American Legion in Madison County, formally swore in all the Madison post officers during the general membership meeting on June 13 at Lunar Lodge, 740 Eastview Drive in Madison.

“The post has grown to nearly 350 members and is leading multiple programs for veterans and for community outreach in Madison and the surrounding community,” Vannoy said.

Madison American Legion, Post 229 meets monthly on second Thursdays at 7 p.m. at Lunar Lodge. Interested individuals can attend a meeting or contact Post Adjutant Stacey Harring.
