The free event will continue through Oct. 5.

“Day one of this three-day, radio-control glider event in Harvest went very smoothly,” NARCA publicist Clifford W. Lanham said. “Fliers from Chicago, Missouri and other states took advantage of the weather to get in practice flights.”

Some pilots kept their gliders aloft for up to 45 minutes.

The glider show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public is invited. Epps Airfield is located at the intersection of Carroll and Harvest roads in Harvest.

For more information, call Lanham at 256-325-3775.
