Bangs Salon, Uptown Boutique to host ‘New Year, New You’ on Jan. 5

An evening of pampering awaits when LeAnn Dean with Uptown Boutique and Brittany Williams with Bangs Salon and Spa host “New Year, New You” on Jan. 5.

The event will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at their location in Monrovia Plaza, 1047 Jeff Road NW.

“We wanted to hold an open house and welcome everyone to a night of beauty. Regular guests will enjoy pampering. New guests can become acquainted with us,” Williams said. She and husband Justin Williams took ownership of the salon in April 2012. “We’ve given the salon a facelift with new paint, lighting and decor.”

Special guests will be McLain Surgical Arts and Teresa Payne, owner of Vintage West in Cullman, and considered an expert in chalk paint techniques, particularly Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.

Guests will receive door prizes and giveaways through the evening. Appetizers and cocktails will be served.

“We’ll offer complimentary one-on-one consultation with a stylist for new clients,” Williams said. The “blow-dry bar” will include a shampoo and blowout for a rejuvenated style. Anyone can schedule an appointment for cosmetics care with Bare Minerals. The chief manicurist will attend.

Uptown Boutique carries young and contemporary women’s clothing, uniquely mixed for ready-to-wear fashion, everyday wear, ‘a night out on the town,’ business casual or special events.

Uptown Boutique sells these latest, trendy styles at affordable prices. Most clothing items are under $79.

Uptown Boutique carries Silver jeans, Judith March, Ivy Jane and many other brands. The shop features Towne and Reese jewelry and watches, plus Fossil Handbags, Kavu and Hobo International wallets and handbags. Collegiate items, Tyler Candles and Natural Life are available.

Bangs offers Hombre and Redken color service and special cuts, like ‘swanky bangs.’ “Now that it’s winter, we recommend a chemistry de-condition system that’s great to give your hair extra protein to repair sun damage,” Williams said.

Bangs offers haircuts for women, men and children. Straightening is available, as is texturing for special events. “We even do specialty colors,” Williams said.
