Goedhart earns scholarship
The University of North Alabama has awarded Linda Goedhart of Madison an academic scholarship.  Goedhart, a senior at Bob Jones High School, will attend UNA as a freshman majoring in elementary education. She is the daughter of Rolf and Eline Goedhart.
Dill part of fashion show
April Dill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dill of Madison, recently attended AmericasMart, a regional apparel mart in Atlanta, as part of a fashion merchandising practicum. She is a junior at Harding University.
McGee wins essay prize
Anna R. McGee, daughter of Rolf McGee and Jacqueline Sockwell of Madison, was recently awarded the Phillip Wolcott Timberlake Memorial Prize at an annual Honors Day Convocation at Kenyon College. The award is given annually to a student who, as determined by the chair of the Department of English in consultation with the department, has written the best essays in his or her English courses. A graduate of the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science, McGee is a senior majoring in English at Kenyon College.
Price honored for work
Matt Price, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Price of Madison, recently received an award from the Arkansas College Press Association for his work on Harding University's student publications staff. Price, a junior public relations major, won third place in the sports story category for "Dominant defense leads HU to 6-1 start."
Hose selected for combine
Bob Jones High School student William Hose of Madison has been selected to participate in the Baptist Sports Medicine Combine on May 10 in Nashville. Players were nominated by their high school coaches to attend this prestigious event.
Residents on dean's list
The following Savannah College of Art and Design students were named to the dean's list for the winter quarter: Sarah Elizabeth Durling, daughter of Russ and Julie Durling; Jennifer Lynne McKelvie, daughter of William and Laurie McKelvie; and Benjamin Eli Ward.
Keebler awarded SCAD scholarship
Andrea M. Keebler, daughter of Candace Noneman and Henry Keebler of Madison, was recently awarded a SCAD scholarship at Savannah College of Art and Design for the fall and plans to major in film and television. SCAD scholars receive $7,500 per year toward tuition and fees.
