Patriots, Mustangs highlight ASWA All-State basketball teams

The Alabama Sports Writers Association 2010 All-State basketball teams have a unique Madison flair.

Eleven players or coaches from the Bob Jones High School and Madison Academy boys’ and girls’ squads were named to the ASWA teams.

Bob Jones’ Levi Randolph and Jasmine Jones were named the Class 6A boys’ and girls’ Player of the Year, respectively, while Lady Patriots’ coach Tim Miller was named the 6A girls’ Coach of the Year.

Four of the Madison Academy Lady Mustangs’ starting five were named to the Class 3A first and second teams, with KeKe Fletcher and Lydia McGee being named to the first team, and Nyla Johnson and Amara Mayers making the second team.

Bob Jones’ Reggie Ragland was named to the Class 6A boys’ second team and Tierra Jones was named to the girls’ second team, while Madison Academy’s Spencer Palmer was named to the Class 3A second team.

Mustangs’ guard Kerryon Johnson was named an honorable mention in 3A.
