MADISON – Madison police officers have arrested Braxton Reed Edwards, 19, for menacing, reckless endangerment and discharging a firearm in the city limits.

On Jan. 27, police responded to the 100 block of Collington Place in reference to a shooting. Patrol officers made contact with the victim and ensured the scene was safe. Madison police detectives conducting the investigation developed information that the suspect was Braxton Reed Edwards of Decatur.

On Jan. 28, Madison police officers arrested Edwards, who allegedly fired several shots from a pistol towards an 18-year-old in the 100 block of Collington Place in Madison on Jan. 27 at approximately 6:30 p.m. No one was injured during the shooting.

Police believe the altercation occurred during a drug transaction. Edwards was booked into the Madison County Jail with a $6,706 bond.
