MADISON – Local physician Dr. Dawn B. Mancuso is transitioning her office to the MDVIP model.

Mancuso joins the network as the ninth affiliate in the Huntsville metro area. The MDVIP company name combines the abbreviations “MD” (for medical doctor) and “VIP” (very important person).

The MDVIP model helps consumers take control of their own health. MDVIP disrupts the conventional primary-care “conveyor-belt medicine” approach, associate publicist Gayle Pitone said.

Mancuso’s new practice at 12205 County Line Road, Suite B in Madison will focus on a higher level of personalized healthcare with an emphasis on prevention, not just the treatment of illness.

“I believe good communication is fundamental to the physician-patient relationship,” Mancuso said. “With the MDVIP model, my patients and I will have a partnership to keep them healthier 365 days of the year, not just in the doctor’s office.”

Mancuso now will have more time to listen, examine and determine goals for her patients. “By affiliating with MDVIP, I’ll (can) dedicate myself to delivering personalized care with improved outcomes and significantly lower hospitalization rates for patients,” Mancuso said.

MDVIP-affiliated physicians provide same- or next-day appointments that start punctually. Office visits start at 30 minutes and are unhurried. Patients receive their physician’s cell phone number and email address.

Mancuso is board certified in family medicine and is affiliated with Athens Limestone Hospital and Crestwood Medical Center.

Mancuso graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine. She completed her internship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla. and residency at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham.

Mancuso’s professional awards include Physicians Recognition Award from the American Medical Association, 1993 to present. She is an elected Board of Trustee for Madison County Medical Society.

Founded in 2000, MDVIP Inc. is a national leader in affordable personalized healthcare offered by more than 800 affiliated primary-care physicians across the United States. Headquarters are in Boca Raton, Fla.
