MADISON – Marty Alfred has fulfilled a dream by opening her own salon, Boulevard Hair Studio in the Sentry Centre.

“Madison is the perfect location,” Alfred said about her shop’s site at 8694 Madison Blvd., Suite L. “I have been a hairstylist for 26 years.”

Working with hairstyles is a skill that she has “enjoyed doing even as a child,” Alfred said. “I practiced on my two sisters for years before anyone else got brave enough to let me touch their hair.”

Bringing those many years of experience, Alfred has opened Boulevard Hair Studio as a family salon that offers haircuts, hair styling, color, perms, highlights and facial waxing. Clients can also see Alfred for hair highlights, extensions and beard trimming.

Currently, Alfred and one other stylist are working in the salon. “We plan on adding more as our business grows,” she said.

“We offer appointments to men, women and children. We want each client to have the best hair experience that they have ever had,” Alfred said.

Current specials at Boulevard Hair Studio include $5 off the price of a haircut or $20 off for color for new clients.

A native of Mobile, Alfred lived in Tennessee during her teenage years. “My family is from this area, and I wanted to be close to them,” she said about relocating to North Alabama.

Marty is married to Kory Alfred, who works as director of the City of Madison Parks and Recreation Department. “I have one daughter that lives in Los Angeles, Calif. She went to Huntsville Christian Academy, Riverton Middle School and Buckhorn High School,” Marty said.

Boulevard Hair Studio is open on Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
