MADISON – The Master Gardeners of North Alabama organization is accepting applications for the Jane R. Parks Memorial Grant.

The Jane R. Parks Memorial Grant allocates monies to support a variety of educational and horticultural projects in Madison County that benefit the community, spokesperson and Master Gardener Suzanne Kirkhuff said.

“This memorial grant was established in 2012 by mutual agreement between the Parks family and the Master Gardeners of North Alabama in memory of Jane R. Parks,” Kirkhuff said. “Parks was a passionate educator for 30 years and a gardener for most of her life and became a Master Gardener in 2003.”

Deadline for grant applications is Oct. 20. Grant amounts range from $100 to $1,000. Organizations that submit applications must be non-profit and have no political affiliations.
