Madison author of ‘Middletide,’ plans book signing at Blue Apple Books
MADISON – Madison author Sarah Crouch invites readers to a meetand- greet time and book signing for her debut novel, “Middletide,” at Blue Apple Books.
Crouch will conduct the session on April 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. The bookstore’s address is 14 Main St., Suite B in Madison.
“Middletide” has been well received and was a recent Barnes & Noble Monthly Pick. Crouch also achieved notoriety as a “USA TODAY” Bestselling author.
A literary mystery, Crouch’s book is set in the Pacific Northwest, where she was raised. In the small Puget Sound town of Point Orchards, Dr. Erin Landry is found hanging from a tree on the property of prodigal son and failed writer Elijah Leith. Sheriff Jim Godbout’s initial investigation rules suicide, yet further inspection shows foul play.
Point Orchards’ townspeople turn against Elijah, who must fight for his innocence against an unexpected enemy. This cunning foe works to frame Elijah for murder.
“With her first novel, Sarah Crouch has hit the ground running. In ‘Middletide,’ she offers readers an emotionally compelling story of loss, vengeance and redemption,” William Kent Krueger said. Krueger is the “New York Times” bestselling author of “This Tender Land.”
“The characters are wonderfully complex, and every scene is nested in a beautifully evoked sense of place,” Krueger said. “To top it off, she has crafted an amazing, twisted mystery with a stunning conclusion. Sarah Crouch’s fine debut novel deserves a place on every reader’s bookshelf.”
In other pursuits, Crouch is recognized in the athletic world as a professional marathon runner. She has served as a representative for Team USA.
As part of her college career at Western Washington University, she had the distinction as an NCAA Division II All-American — a total of 13 times. In 2011, she won the NCAA Division II National Championship in the 10,000-meter division.
Crouch has had her freelance work published in titles like “Competitor Magazine” and “Active Magazine.” She lives in Madison, Ala. with her husband and two children.
Blue Apple Books is a woman- owned independent bookstore in historic downtown Madison. Owner Robin Dauma has focused the enterprise on community, creativity and curiosity. The sister store, South & Pine, is a home goods and gift shop that features locally sourced goods.
