James Clemens- Sprint Swim Champions

MADISON- The entire complex at Dublin Memorial Park was abuzz on Sept. 7 at both James Clemens and Bob Jones played hosts to the Alabama Sprint and Dive Championships. Twelve North Alabama high schools with 275 athletes total bombarded the indoor pool for the big meet with an early-season showcase of top talent.

James Clemens came away team victor in both boys and girls among the Class 6-7A schools while Scottsboro nailed down similar final results in Classes 1-5A.

For the victor James Clemens, Alex Kulkarni, Jason Park and Christian Wester earned 40 points each and won first place in their individual races and relays for the Jets. The Lady Jets were led by Fiona Scully, Tatum Scully, Gemma King and Chloe Kim who, as a group, earned a combined 144 points. Laurel Hunter earned first place for James Clemens in the diving competition.

The final team results:

Boys 6-7A: 1. James Clemens, 2. Whitesburg Christian Academy, 3. Bob Jones; Girls 6-7A: 1. James Clemens, 2. Bob Jones, 3. Cullman; Boys 1-5A: 1. Scottsboro, 2. Alabama School of Cyber Technology, 3. Arab; Girls 1-5A: 1. Scottsboro, 2. Arab, 3. Alabama School of Cyber Technology.
