Huntsville dusted by Jets who stay perfect

MADISON – James Clemens Football (3-0) remained perfect on Friday as the Jets shelled out visiting Huntsville (3-1) its first loss of the season in sloppy conditions.

The rain pelted the field at Madison City Stadium as the venue looked vastly different compared to a week before.

Last week, the traffic ahead of the Bob Jones vs James Clemens game was gridlocked with the stands loaded with excited patrons.

Friday’s contest against Huntsville was laden with umbrellas and ponchos as the wet stuff came down in sheets.

The Panthers got the ball first and were unable to do much with it as the Jet defense came out fired up.

The Huntsville quarterback was slammed brutally to the turf by James Clemens linebacker DJ Davis and defensive lineman Travis Ezell to create a fourth and long situation.

Riding that momentum, the Jets offense got right to work with powerful carries by Cam Berry and MJ Gideon who marched the pigskin down the field with confidence.

It came as no surprise at the 8:58 mark of the first quarter when Gideon gashed his way the final four yards for the touchdown to make it 7-0 JC in a flurry.

The loyal fans went nuts at sight of the score as James Clemens set the early tone.
