Cast, crew named for James Clemens Theatre’s ‘Failure: A Love Story’

MADISON – James Clemens Theatre has announced the cast members and technical crew leads for this semester’s one-act play, “Failure: A Love Story!,” a work by Philip Dawkins.

Director Amy Patel introduced the roles for the actors and behind-the-scenes workers. “We can’t wait to bring this beautiful story to life with this stellar ensemble,” Patel said. (Facebook/James Clemens Theatre) Bryan Comer, who teaches technical theatre, will serve as Technical Director.

The play is set in 1928. The three Fail sisters — Nelly, Jenny June and Gerty — are dying in reverse, youngest to oldest. Songs and a whimsical chorus follow the sisters’ story as they live above the family’s clock repair shop . . . before their time unexpectedly runs out. This musical fable insists that the power of love is far greater than any individual’s successes or failures. (Facebook/James Clemens Theatre)
