Sherell Robertson To Handle Bob Jones Girls Basketball Program

MADISON- The new head coach of the girl’s basketball program at Bob Jones High is now on board. Sherell Robertson arrived within the Lady Patriots with a wealth of knowledge and experience including playing three years at Auburn University from 2007-2009 where she served as team captain.

“From recruitment and evaluation, I concentrate on training and development while creating an environment which promotes both academic and athletic success at the highest level,” said the 38-year old Robertson, who comes to Madison from a year’s stop at Tennessee Valley Prep Sports Academy where she was the head coach of the boy’s basketball team.

Her coaching experience includes four years as head coach of girls basketball at Mae Jemison and one year prior to that position as head coach of a similar team at McNair Jr. High, both in Huntsville.

Beginning in May 2021, Robertson also held the position of owner and trainer at TezMania Sports International and TezMania Sports USA. In those roles, she developed workout regimens and training programs for athletes of all ages and abilities, coordinated training sessions and set achievable goals for each athlete. Her strong communication skills with parents and organizational expertise ensured the smooth operation of training facilities and schedules.

Robertson is married to her husband, Quantez Robertson, Sr., and they have three children, daughters Autumn and Kendall and one son, Quantez, Jr. They’ve been a family since 2015.

The 38-year old Robertson earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts-Sociology. “I feel I am dedicated to harnessing the power or sports to foster personal growth and excellence among student-athletes,” she added.

Robertson possesses what she feels are strong fiscal skills and fundraising experience, in-depth knowledge of NCAA rules and proficient public speaking skills.

“I firmly believe in promoting positive mental health, self-care and individuality among young athletes,” said Robertson.
