Enable Madison County to benefit from clay shoot

MADISON – The seventh annual “Let’s Aim to Enable” clay shoot on Sept. 22 will benefit the work of Enable Madison County (formerly CASA).

This blend of a sporting event and a fundraiser will be held at Old South Clays in Athens, located at 27246 Wooley Springs Road (‘between’ Wall Triana and I-65).

“This event is a fun sporting shoot for all skill levels offering two sets of flights for teams to choose from — morning and afternoon,” Susan Steinhauser said. Steinhauser is President of Enable Madison County Board of Directors. Teams will receive T-shirts, breakfast and lunch.

“The course consists of more than 15 stations throughout the picturesque rural venue, and golf carts can be reserved for an additional fee to help teams progress to their next station,” Steinhauser said.

At this fall fundraiser, “Not only do the top scoring teams win prizes, but also get bragging rights for the whole year,” Steinhauser said. Other outstanding door prizes also will be available with a team member’s registration; special prize tickets are available for a donation. “Making the competition fun by providing added incentives, like mulligans, just adds to the camaraderie.”

“The event provides great teambuilding and networking opportunities for all participants,” she said.

Teams can take advantage of Early Bird pricing of $550 for a team of four or $150 for an individual until Aug. 31. On Sept. 1, prices increase by $50.

Sponsorships are still available for the event and for individual shooting stations. “We acknowledge a media sponsor, WTAK 106.1 — Huntsville’s Classic Rock. Thank you to the Madison County Cattlemen’s Association for providing lunch for the group. A special thanks goes to our Title Sponsor, Windsor Windows and Doors, for their continuous support of Enable Madison County,” Steinhauser said.

Enable Madison County’s mission is to enable aging and homebound neighbors to live at home independently, safely and with dignity. Enable services include installing wheelchair ramps, handrails and grab bars; providing transportation to medical appointments; winterizing homes; delivering fresh produce from the Enable garden; and much more.

“Be sure to join us in supporting our aging and homebound neighbors by helping raise much needed funds for services to help the elderly in our community age in place,” Steinhauser said.
