Mattress Sale To Benefit James Clemens Football Program

MADISON- There’s nothing better than good food and a good night sleep. The James Clemens High School cafeteria can soon provide both as it’s the location for daily meals during school days and on Sunday, April 30, will host the 11th annual Mattress Sale in support of the school’s football program.

Numerous brands including Simmons, Beautyrest and Therapedic will be available to purchase during the event scheduled from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

“All money raised goes toward locker room renovations and weight room update including new weights, plates, bars and other accessories,” said Chad McGehee head coach of the James Clemens football program. “We brought in $8-thousand last year and set a goal this year of up to $10-thousand. Eleven years is the age of the weight room so we’re being proactive in our efforts to upkeep our facility. To do so, it’s expensive and our efforts benefits all of our sports at the school.”

Charlie Colwell of Customs Fundraising Solutions operates the sale. A professional crew will be on hand in the glorious makeshift mattress showroom to assist on selections of bedding. In addition to mattresses in all different styles, sizes and firmness, the sale will also include luxury pillows and mattress pads.

Once selections are made, payment can be made in a variety of ways. Demos will be setup in the showroom as customers will make their selections and the mattresses will be shipped directly to the customer’s home.

“You won’t have to plan on transporting your mattress home from the sale as all of the bedding will be delivered,” said McGehee. “I’ll be there to meet and greet those attending as prior to our sale our players will try and get the word out in the Madison community by posting signs and handing out fliers.”

Information regarding the mattress sale is available on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/727413972273219.

We ask everyone to come out and support our athletes,” added McGehee. “We’re not selling something people don’t need.”

The Jets’ football program is also planning its Youth Football Camp titled “A Night Under The Lights” scheduled May 25. The camp is free for youngsters K-5 with a limit of 100 campers.

“We will work on the fundamental skills of football and have fun,” said McGehee of the camp which was canceled twice in 2022 due to inclement weather. “Apex Dental is our title sponsor, and all campers will receive a camp T-shirt.”

Registration is on-going and available on several social media outlets including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The camp will be held under the lights from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
