BJ’s Warehouse plans first Alabama location at Town Madison

MADISON – One of the newest additions to Town Madison this year is the highly-anticipated BJ’s Warehouse, who will be opening their first location in Alabama with the store. A leading operator of membership warehouse clubs in the Eastern United States, BJ’s is a strong competitor with Sam’s Club and Costco. The retailer now has 236 U.S. clubs.

An opening date has not been set yet, but the project is expected to exceed over $13 million. It will be located at 165 Graphics Drive in Madison, which puts it near the Duluth Trading Company.

Like Sam’s and Costco, BJ’s will include a vast selection of fresh foods, produce, a full-service deli, household essentials, pet supplies, assortment of seasonal items, home décor, fashion for the family, toys, tech, and a selection of local products.

When complete, the new club will have a BJ’s gas location on-site and offer members low fuel prices, with the opportunity to earn extra savings through BJ’s Fuel Saver Program. The Davenport BJ’s Gas station will offer regular, premium, and diesel fuels.

According to a press release by BJ’s, each new BJ’s Wholesale Club location is expected to create approximately 150 jobs for its respective community, totaling approximately 450 employments for the first half of the year within BJ’s newest club openings.

Headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts, BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BJ) pioneered the warehouse club model in New England in 1984. The company currently operates 236 clubs and 165 BJ’s Gas locations in 18 states.
