Damaging winds, flooding possible tonight

This is obviously becoming a weekly trend now. Flash flooding and damaging winds are possible overnight with a line of severe thunderstorms moving through the Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville.

NWS meteorologist Geoffrey Heidelberger said the area could see heavy rains and high winds about 10 p.m. Wednesday. “We’re looking at wind gusts up to 40 to 60 mph and some possible flash flooding,” he said. “Right now the threat of tornadic activity is low but we are continuing to monitor.”

He said the temperatures will be in the 60s today and Thursday with a possibility of more rain returning Saturday and Sunday.
